Pada kesempatan tersebut, dijelaskan Bupati Masneno, gerakan orangtua asuh sendiri merupakan gerakan terobosan yang dicanangkan oleh Pemerintah Daerah dengan melibatkan stakeholder terkait dalam membantu Balita-balita stunting.
Dalam hal pemenuhan nilai gizi yang dianggap penting dalam pertumbuhan dan perkembangan anak/balita stunting. Gerakan ini dimulai dengan kegiatan pemberian makanan tambahan (PMT) ke Bayi atau Balita stunting.
“Pemberian makanan tambahan ini diharapkan membantu menurunkan angka stunting di Kecamatan Amarasi. Untuk wilayah kecamatan Amarasi sendiri berdasarkan hasil pengukuran status gizi pada bulan timbang februari 2023, jumlah balita dengan kategori stunting sebanyak 212 anak”, jelas Masneno.
Lanjut Masneno, pengentasan stunting harus dilakukan secara terpadu serta butuh komitmen kuat dari semua stakeholder, dengan penanganan secara baik, terukur, terarah, agar bisa membangun masa depan generasi yang unggul dan berdaya saing.
Sementara hal lain ditambahkan Kapolres Kupang, AKBP Anak Agung Gde Anom Wirata terkait keamanan dan ketertiban masyarakat di Kecamatan Amarasi.
“Saya butuh dukungan dan bantuan segenap pihak termasuk masyarakat untuk menjaga situasi kamtibmas di Kecamatan Amarasi. Tetap menjaga hubungan harmonis dan saling tukar menukar informasi untuk keamanan dan ketertiban masyarakat”, harap dirinya.
Ia berterima kasih kepada Bupati Kupang yang selalu mendukung tugas Kepolisian dalam menjaga situasi aman di Masyarakat.
Sedangkan pelaksanaan gerakan orangtua asuh balita stunting dampingan Dinas Pertanian dan Ketahanan Pangan Kabupaten Kupang, dilaporkan Kepala Dinas, Amin Juariah bahwa
pelaksanaan kegiatan ini dilakukan di satu kelurahan dan 8 desa yang terdapat di Kecamatan Amarasi pada bulan April hingga desember 2023.
Di engan kegiatannya antara lain pemberian PMT kepada 212 balita stunting, pemberian benih sayuran dan anakan kelor, sosialisasi pola konsumsi pangan buah dan sayuran serta gerakan lahan intensif untuk keragaman pangan dan edukasi, pola konsumsi pangan yang beragam, bergizi, seimbang dan aman yang disebut dengan gerakan Like B2SA.
Acara ini ditandai dengan Penyerahan paket makanan tambahan secara simbolis kepada 10 anak balita stunting di Kabupaten Kupang oleh Bupati, Wakil Bupati dan Kapolres Kupang.
