Bupati Korinus Masneno dalam sambutannya menyampaikan terima kasih kepada Kementerian Perdagangan Republik Indonesia yang telah membantu Pemerintah Daerah dalam membangun pasar Lili ini.
Kabupaten Kupang jelasnya memiliki potensi ekonomi yang cukup besar berupa ketersediaan lahan, keterampilan petani menanam dan berkebun, kaya akan ternak, hasil tani, dan memiliki potensi hasil laut yang baik. Semua yang diperoleh itu jelas Masneno merupakan berkat Tuhan dan patut disyukuri dalam meningkatkan ekonomi masyarakat.
Ia berbangga, dengan selesai dibangunnya gedung pasar khusus sayuran dan Buah-buahan ini, sudah langsung ada aktifitas ekonomi disana.
Untuk itu Masyarakat, baik pedagang atau pembeli dapat selalu menjaga kebersihan pasar untuk menciptakan kenyamanan, sehingga dapat meningkatkan antusias pembeli untuk berbelanja di pasar tradisional ini.
“Jadilah tuan rumah pedagang yang baik di negerinya sendiri. Sesuatu itu dapat terlihat baik jika dimulai dari diri sendiri. Penataan pasar itu penting. Saya berterima kasih dan mohon dukungan masyarakat sekitar lingkungan pasar dalam menjaga, merawat termasuk mengelola pasar, agar terlihat bersih dan nyaman”, pesannya Masneno.
Ditambahkan Masneno, Pasar tradisional yang di desain dgn konsep modern ini diharapkan dapat menjadi rujukan atau pilihan utama bagi masyarakat yang akan membeli atau memenuhi kebutuhannya. Orang nomor satu di Kabupaten Kupang tersebut berharap pasar Lili menjadi pasar yang nyaman dan aman di datangi masyarakat, pasarnya bersih dan rapi bahkan penataan parkiran ditata secara baik.
Sementara dalam laporan Kepala Dinas Perindustrian, Perdagangan Koperasi dan UKM Kabupaten Kupang, Khristian Koroh menyebutkan besar anggaran yang digunakan untuk pembangunan pasar Lili T.A.2022 yakni sebesar Rp.2.689.184.000 bersumber dari Anggaran Pendapatan Belanja Negara (APBN) Tugas Pembantua Kementerian Perdagangan RI T.A.2022.
Sesuai komitmen bersama Kementerian Perdagangan RI, maka pasar Lili akan terus ditingkatkan menjadi pasar modern dengan transaksi digital mengikuti perkembangan teknologi yang ada dan peningkatan sumber daya pedagang menjadi salah satu perhatian untuk ditingkatkan kemampuannya.
